With hills and valleys, mountain meadows and grasslands, and streams and rivers all spread throughout gently rolling countryside stretching to the Loire River, Forez is a hiker’s paradise...Come and discover over 600 miles of marked footpaths. Certain paths interconnect to create a network just perfect for longer journeys, including treks on horseback or mountain bikes. Please note: 10 hiking trails are officially registered with the French Hiking Federation. Various guidebooks are available for purchase from the Shop: footpaths of the Montagnes du Matin, hikes in Forez-en-Lyonnais, and country walks in Saint Galmier. It is also possible to purchase individual information sheets.
